Our Mission

Our mission is to facilitate the provision of individualized resources and services which meet the physical, social, educational & interpersonal/behavioral challenges of children with special needs, & their families, caregivers, & educational/vocational professionals.

Our Vision

We seek to create supportive relationships within our community: linking existing resources & developing new ones in order to ensure opportunities for those who have special needs to genuinely participate within our communities to the fullest extent possible.

Our Board

Alan and Jennifer Wassel

Alan has just recently retired from a successful career representing a highly reputable medical manufacturer and is now able to enjoy his passion, which involves making a lot of sawdust in his shop!  He and Jennifer have three adult children; the youngest daughter, with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, developmental delay and vision impairment. Although he traveled extensively with his job, he participated in raising their children, and especially in the daily care of their youngest, so he is well-aware of the daily challenges that families with special needs face.  Alan brings much reason and balance (along with quite a bit of corny humor!) to the Board and his skills in communication and sales are invaluable to the process of linking community entities.

In 2013, Jennifer began the formation of Triple 1 Blessings, Inc. as a 501(c)3 non-profit, after retiring from an education career as a Special Educator and after eight years of personal assistance to a National Sales Director.  Being both a Special Educator and a Parent has given Jennifer a balanced view of the oft-times struggle between public school responsibilities and parental expectations.  As their daughter transitioned from public school to full time “life in the community” Jennifer actively created environments and opportunities to provide maximum community involvement with much needed support, so she knows the challenges facing parents of older children with special needs as well.  Her experience in event planning and overseeing the networking aspects of her personal assistant position is also beneficial in the area of marketing and fundraising for Triple 1 Blessings, Inc.

It is their desire to provide support via Triple 1 Blessings, Inc. that will target individual needs of families facing special needs challenges in many areas, for the purpose of strengthening family relationships, as well as community relationships.

Scott and Brandy Hannusch

Scott and Brandy met Alan and Jennifer early in 2012 when Brandy was hired to be a caregiver for the Wassel’s youngest daughter.  They very quickly became “family” and both Scott and Brandy share in the desire to support families with special needs.

Scott works for PEC (Pedernales Electric Coop) as a Substation Electrician III;  he has been recognized as a leader in the community numerous times and he brings much-needed knowledge of the community governance aspects to the board.

Brandy also has deep roots in the community, especially within the business community.  She is very active in various mission-oriented community events including fundraising for local animal shelters and general networking for the purpose of assisting those with specific needs.  She also works in administration for a retail store and, on the side, she enjoys creating individualized crafts and home decor items.
